Get ready for the Mind Sports Olympiad 2019! All events are open to everybody and cost £10 per entry.
The event will be held on the 18th – 26th August 2019 at the usual venue JW3 (Finchley Road) London UK. A huge number of competitions are contested as part of the Mind Sports Olympiad and it is a great opportunity to try something new. In particular it hosts one of the biggest events in the competitive Mental Math calendar – the Mental Calculation World Championship.
Mental Calculation World Championship (Wednesday 21st August)
This is a 3-and-a-half-hour paper including a full variety of calculation challenges, from addition to inexact deep roots, and suitable for everyone from beginners to world champions.
The paper is being created using the accomplished competitive calculator George Lane’s Pegasus simulator – so this is recommended for your preparation. More detailed specifications may be available closer to the competition.
You can read more about the competition on World Mental Calculation, and on the Mind Sports Olympiad website. It’s recommended to book your place beforehand online.
Join us at the venue by 10:00 on Wednesday 21st August to participate – hope to see many of you there!
Mental Calculations Blitz
This event will not be available this year, and the focus will be on the World Championship.
Other Events:
Many other events are held, including in Memory, Spead Reading and Board Games – see the schedule below for details. For information and updates from the organizers, visit the MSO website
Hi, Mo,
why is George banned?
Why it’s impossible for you to compete?
Yes indeed, no blitz event and still the same venue, George Lane banned from attending for two years, I hope everything will change next year. Meanwhile, it is impossible for me to compete
No BLITZ competition anymore! Really very bad news. So I don’t know if I will take part this year at all.
