*** Update: Results! ***
In advance of the 2022 Mental Calculation World Cup, to be held in Paderborn (Germany) this July, the organizer (Ralf Laue) has released the list of participants. This year the competition will include many experienced calculators from the last decade, from every continent except Oceania, and with a wide range of ages. Registrations are already closed.
Unfortunately, I’m unable to attend, because July and August is a busy work period for me. Other past medal-winners including George Lane and Nodas Boukovalas have other commitments and cannot join on this occasion. Some competitors, such as Wenzel Grüß, can’t join due to the strict covid vaccination policy of the venue.
Here is a list of the competitors, with some context. If you’re in this list and you have an international medal or similar achievement that’s not listed here, please email me to let me know. There may be some changes between publication and the actual event.
