Registrations are now open for a new online mental calculation league! This is organized by Global Mental Calculators’ Association (GMCA)—a new organization run by Sam Engel and a small team of gold medalists in mental calculation, aiming to provide regular opportunities for mental calculators around the world to test their skills against others, without the need for international travel.
Format of Competition
Participants will compete against each other in head-to-head matches, involving a wide variety of standard calculation formats. Participants will also have the opportunity to compete in dedicated contests of their favourite calculation categories (such as square roots, or calendar dates).
Everyone (of all ages) is welcome to enter the pre-season qualifiers, and the top performers will proceed to the main part of the season.
The format is similar to Memory League, where top mnemonists have been competing against each other for several years, memorizing numbers, decks of cards, and names and faces.
Registration for Season 1
The dates for Season 1 have not yet been announced, but the pre-season qualifiers will start in November/December 2023, so it is recommended to register sooner. You can sign up here, and be sure to read the full rules in preparation for competing. The first season will likely start in early 2024.

In other news, 4 of the regular international competitions are expected to announce a major mental calculation event for 2024, with dates between February and November. All announcements will be posted here on World Mental Calculation, and you can additionally follow the organizers of each competition directly.
