Season 2 of the GMCA’s Mental Calculation League (official website) has concluded, with 25 competitors in the main event, and around 100 head-to-head matches held over several months. This was an online event open to all ages, allowing participation worldwide.
Qualified contestants competed against each other in head-to-head matches in groups of 6. The top half competed in the “play-offs” to qualify to the final group of 6. The competition used a wide variety of calculation formats of varying complexity—mostly based on formats in existing international competitions. These were selected randomly by GMCA’s two-player competition app and single-player league simulator. The matches were supervised by Samuel Engel, who also developed the competition alongside Wenzel Grüß and other contributors.
Results
The top 4 places for Season 2 were identical to Season 1.
🥇 Wenzel Grüß 🇩🇪 is the overall winner again, with the fastest calculation speed on this variety of tasks—congratulations! He scored 488 points overall, and won the final championship match 235–185 against Aaryan.
🥈 Aaryan Shukla 🇮🇳 came 2nd, after some comprehensive victories against other top competitors, and scoring 412 points. This comes after winning the MCWC in 2022 and 2024, and winning one gold and two silver medals at the MSO (online) since 2021.
🥉 Kaloyan Geshev 🇧🇬 takes 3rd place with 254 overall points, and adds to his recent gold medals at the JMCWC and the MSO (online).
Rahul Robin 🇮🇳 performed strongly with 173 points and winning 11/15 of his matches.
Swanand Bhore 🇮🇳 came 5th, after placing 6th last year.
Jure Colak 🇧🇦 takes 6th place out of 25 total participants—up from 9th place last year.
